BIO

Bálint Gutay (1998) was born in Győr in Hungary, studied Photography at the Faculty of Art at University of Kaposvár on BA level and did his MA Photography studies at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest. Since his graduation in 2023, he has been working as a freelance photographer and as a freelance photography assistant in Budapest.

Gutay’s photo projects are based on his works and researches, which deals with various topics and criticisms of globalization, in many cases with local research methods. A large part of his pictures contain found or staged scenes and objects, thus enhancing his interest in the given topic. Although his interest in photography is focused on conceptual art, but he also interested in object photography and in the installation of various lighting techniques in staged photographs.
